小女孩凯蒂和她的爸爸妈妈、弟弟凯文、还有一只叫马芬的狗住在一栋漂亮的古堡里。他们一家都是巫师,除了会法术之外,他们所有的事情都跟正常人一样。噢!忘了说了,马芬也很厉害,它是一只会下咒语的巫犬。
会法术的家庭就是不一样。你看,凯蒂妈妈捏捏鼻子,扫帚、抹布、拖把等等清洁工具乖乖地做起了家务,不一会儿,古堡的里里外外都变得非常干净。
再看看凯蒂爸爸,只见他挥了挥手中的魔杖,修草机就自动工作起来,草坪马上被修理得整整齐齐。
马芬不停地舔脚趾,弟弟凯文用力拉着耳朵,那是他们在争夺一个飞在空中的汉堡包。

“不要!不要!我不去,我就不去。会变得又丑又恐怖的。”凯蒂双手捂着耳朵叫嚷着。
“那都是传言呢。女巫在万圣节这天是不能待在家里的……”妈妈在凯蒂的耳边小声地说了一些话。

“不请客,就捣蛋!不请客,就捣……”孩子们喊着。“别吵!小心我拳头
一挥,你们一个个都倒在地上。”邦司先生脸上露出恐怖的笑容。“如果你真的是女巫,就帮帮我们。”年纪最大的爱蜜莉对凯蒂说。“去吧!凯蒂!”爱蜜莉说,“让他瞧瞧!你是一个真正的女巫!”
凯蒂怯懦地走向前去,虽然女孩们之前表现得不太友好,可是她不愿意自己的同伴们受到这个凶巴巴的先生的欺负。

凯蒂蹲在地上问:“变成仓鼠好玩吗?妈妈告诉我心肠丑陋的人在万圣节这天会变得很丑的。以后还欺负小孩吗?”
小仓鼠摇晃着小脑袋吱吱地叫着,好像就要哭出来的样子。凯蒂扭扭自己的小鼻子,又念起咒语,“嘣”的一声,邦司先生马上又变回了人样。
“等一等,孩子们,我马上给你们拿些吃的!”他马上转身回屋。
很快,邦司先生抱着一大堆巧克力条、动物饼干、奇异果蛋糕出来了。他把这些好吃的零食分给每一个女孩。最后,他拿出了一个漂亮的南瓜娃娃递给凯蒂:“美丽善良的小女巫,请接收我最诚挚的歉意。这是我万圣节送你的礼物,祝你万圣节快乐。明年我一样欢迎你们,会带给你们更多的零食。”
女孩们欢呼着、拥抱着凯蒂。这个万圣节凯蒂第一次感到非常的开心。
“原来当女巫也挺好的,可以保护同学。也可以帮助其他的人。以后我要好好的享受每年的万圣节啦!”回家后,凯蒂悄悄地跟妈妈说。
凯蒂成了女孩们羡慕的对象。她现在是学校里最受欢迎的人。
