基础英语寓言故事 篇一:The Wise Tortoise

Once upon a time, in a beautiful forest, there lived a wise tortoise named Tim. Tim was known throughout the forest for his intelligence and wisdom. He was always sought after by the other animals for advice and guidance.

One day, a group of animals gathered around Tim to seek his help. The forest was facing a severe water shortage, and the animals didn't know what to do. Tim listened carefully to their concerns and thought for a moment.

"I have an idea," Tim said. "Let's all work together to dig a well. This way, we can ensure that we have a constant supply of water."

The animals were intrigued by Tim's plan and agreed to help. Each animal contributed in their own way. The elephants used their strong trunks to dig deep into the ground, while the monkeys swung from the trees and dropped rocks into the hole to form the walls of the well. The birds flew back and forth, bringing twigs and leaves to reinforce the structure.

After many days of hard work, the well was finally complete. The animals were overjoyed and celebrated their accomplishment. From that day forward, the forest had a reliable source of water, and the animals lived harmoniously.

The moral of the story is that unity and teamwork can overcome any obstacle. Just like the animals in the forest, when we work together and contribute our unique skills and abilities, we can achieve great things.

基础英语寓言故事 篇二:The Greedy Fox

Once upon a time, in a lush green meadow, there lived a fox named Max. Max was known for his insatiable greed. He was always on the lookout for food, even when he had enough to eat.

One sunny day, Max came across a flock of chickens. His mouth watered at the thought of a delicious meal. However, there was one problem – the chickens were guarded by a fierce dog named Rocky. Max knew he had to come up with a plan to get his paws on the chickens without getting caught.

Max observed the chickens from a distance and noticed that they were fed by the farmer every morning. He realized that if he could trick the farmer into giving him the same food, he would have a free and endless supply of meals.

The next morning, Max approached the farmer's house and put on his most pitiful expression. He whimpered and wagged his tail, pretending to be hungry. The farmer, feeling sorry for the fox, gave him a plate of delicious chicken scraps.

Max devoured the food greedily. He returned to the farmer's house every day, pretending to be hungry and receiving more chicken scraps. He thought he had outsmarted everyone.

However, one day, Rocky the dog saw through Max's trickery. He followed Max back to the meadow and confronted him.

"You are a sneaky and greedy fox," Rocky growled. "I have been watching you steal food from the farmer. You have deceived everyone."

Max hung his head in shame. He realized that his greed had gotten the better of him. He had lost the trust of the farmer and the respect of the other animals in the meadow.

The moral of the story is that greed can lead to deceit and loss of trust. It is important to be content with what we have and not let our desires drive us to dishonesty.
