狗来到了八儿子的别墅里，看见这只肥猫正在睡觉，于是把肥猫叼了起来，想弄一个红烧猫肉来吃。
狗回到了狗宅，开始烧水，把肥猫放进锅里，猫七兄弟赶了过来，却晚了一步，八儿子只剩下骨头了。

猫总想吃老鼠肉，可是老鼠很难被抓住。“有了！”猫突然想到，每次都是老鼠被逼进死胡同时，狗就会一下子跳出来保护老鼠。只要除掉狗，老鼠少了保护，哪怕被逼进死胡同，它迟早也会变成自己的美味的。
等了许久，猫看见狗朝他走来，赶紧偷偷地把下水道的盖子掀开了，狗一直忙于整理自己的皮毛，没看见脚下的大坑。“扑通”一声，狗掉进了下水道。“救命啊！”狗狂吠起来。猫装作没听见，一溜烟地跑了。
老鼠听见呼救声，急忙跑出来，它把一段绳子的一头抛到下水道里，自己拿着另一头。狗接住绳子，老鼠想把狗拉上来，可是，它的力气太小。于是，它把绳子系到一辆准备出发的汽车上。汽车刚开起的时候，狗被拉了出来。老鼠又连忙用嘴咬断绳子，狗得救了。
狗激动地说：”好兄弟，你救了我的命，我该如何报答你呢？”
老鼠说：“我要你帮个忙，除掉猫。”
“怎么除呢？”狗问道。
老鼠对狗耳语一番，狗听了后连声说好。
第二天，猫和狗又在大街上碰面了。狗说：“猫先生，您好。”猫说：“您好，狗小姐。”
“近来不错吧。我看你是越来越帅了喽！”狗说到。
“谢谢您！哦，对了！我昨天在我家门口看见了一张“十全十美的选美大赛”广告，我要去参加。”猫说，“您能为我找找缺点吗？”
“猫先生。”狗说，“您长得十分英俊，但有三个不足，如果去掉这三个缺点，那一定是十全十美的了……”
“哪三个不足？”猫急忙打断了狗的话。
“第一，”狗说道，“你留着胡子，太难看了，第二，你这么美丽的脚掌，应该配一双高级皮鞋才对呀！第三，你这爪子多不好看啊，所以，你要买一双高级皮鞋穿上；剃掉胡子；剪掉爪子，只要做好这三件事情，保证您拿冠军！”
猫听完对着镜子看了又看，觉得狗说得挺对，立刻按照狗说的去打扮。打扮完后，猫又去照镜子，看上去果然帅多了哦。这时，自己家后面的粮仓里传出一阵“咯吱咯吱”的声音，猫立刻冲过去，原来是老鼠在趁它打扮时偷粮食呢！老鼠听到了猫皮鞋发出的“咔咔”声，迅速逃跑。猫追了上来，眼看就要追上老鼠了，可是猫的指甲已经剪掉了，伤不了老鼠一根毫毛，猫气得开始狂奔起来，不但没有追上而且觉得连走路也开始歪歪扭扭了。原来，猫没有胡子就不能掌握平衡。这时，埋伏在一边的狗冲了出来，乘机咬死了猫。
