Before the Spring Festival, my family and I cleaned our house together. We believe that cleaning the house before the festival can sweep away the bad luck and bring good luck for the new year. It was tiring, but it was also a lot of fun to clean with my parents and siblings.
During the Spring Festival, my family and I had a big dinner together on New Year's Eve. We had dumplings, fish, and many other delicious dishes. My mom also made a special dessert called nian gao, which is made of sticky rice. It is my favorite!
On New Year's Day, we woke up early to greet our relatives and friends. We said "Happy New Year" to each other and gave each other red envelopes. Inside the red envelopes, there is money. It is a tradition to give red envelopes during the Spring Festival, and it is so exciting to receive them!
In the afternoon, we went to visit our grandparents. We had a big family reunion and enjoyed a lot of delicious food. My grandparents gave us more red envelopes, and we played games together. It was so much fun!
During the Spring Festival holiday, I also watched the Spring Festival Gala on TV. There were many performances, such as singing, dancing, and acrobatics. I especially liked the lion dance and the traditional Chinese music. It was a great show!

At midnight, we set off fireworks and firecrackers to welcome the new year. The sky was filled with colorful lights and loud noises. It was so exciting! We also hung up red lanterns outside our house to drive away evil spirits.
On New Year's Day, my parents gave me red envelopes with money inside. I was so happy! I used the money to buy toys and treats for myself. In the afternoon, we visited our relatives and friends.
