二年级端午节英语作文 篇一:The Celebration of Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival that is celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. It is a time when people honor the great poet and statesman Qu Yuan and ward off evil spirits. Here is how my family and I celebrate this special occasion.
On the morning of the Dragon Boat Festival, my parents and I wake up early to prepare for the day's festivities. We clean our house and decorate it with colorful ornaments and paintings of dragons and boats. These decorations are believed to bring good luck and protect us from evil spirits.
After the house is all set, we head to the kitchen to make zongzi, a traditional Chinese food eaten during this festival. Zongzi are sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, filled with different ingredients such as beans, meat, or nuts. My favorite zongzi is the one with red bean paste filling.
While my mom and I prepare the zongzi, my dad starts to set up a miniature dragon boat in our backyard. He attaches a small dragon head and tail to a long wooden boat and paints it in bright colors. This dragon boat will be used in a race later in the day.
Once everything is ready, we invite our friends and neighbors to join us in the celebration. We gather at a nearby river where the dragon boat race takes place. The race is the highlight of the festival, as teams compete against each other to paddle the fastest and win the race. The dragon boat is beautifully decorated, and the rhythmic sound of the paddles hitting the water fills the air.
After the race, we return home to enjoy a feast of delicious food. Besides zongzi, we also have other traditional dishes such as sticky rice cakes, steamed buns, and salted duck eggs. We share stories and laughter while enjoying the meal together.
In the afternoon, we engage in various activities to celebrate the festival. We play traditional games like tug-of-war, shuttlecock kicking, and making and wearing colorful silk threads. These activities bring joy and laughter to everyone, young and old.
As the day comes to an end, we light incense and burn joss paper to pay respect to Qu Yuan. We believe that these rituals will bring us good fortune and protect our family throughout the year.
The Dragon Boat Festival is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity for family and friends to come together and strengthen their bonds. It is a festival filled with love, joy, and traditions that have been passed down through generations. I'm grateful to be part of this rich cultural heritage and look forward to celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival every year.
二年级端午节英语作文 篇二:My Favorite Dragon Boat Festival Memory
The Dragon Boat Festival is a special time of the year that I always look forward to. Among the many memories I have of this festival, one stands out as my favorite.
It was a sunny day, and the excitement was in the air. My family and I were getting ready to participate in the dragon boat race. We had been practicing for weeks, and this was our chance to show off our teamwork and determination.
I was assigned to be the drummer of our team. My task was to beat the drum rhythmically to keep the paddlers in sync and motivated. I sat at the front of the boat, holding the drumsticks tightly in my hands. I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins as we prepared to take off.
The sound of the starting horn echoed across the river, and we paddled with all our might. The boat glided through the water, propelled by the synchronized strokes of our team. It was an exhilarating feeling, being part of something bigger than myself.
As the race progressed, we faced challenges and obstacles. The water became rougher, and the wind blew against us. But we didn't give up. We encouraged each other and pushed ourselves harder. We could hear the cheers from the spectators on the shore, urging us to keep going.
Finally, we crossed the finish line, exhausted but exhilarated. Our team had come in first place! We hugged each other, celebrating our victory and the bond we had formed throughout the race. It was a moment of triumph and joy that I will never forget.
After the race, we returned home to continue the festivities. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal with our friends and family, feasting on zongzi and other traditional foods. We played games, laughed, and shared stories late into the night.
Looking back, that Dragon Boat Festival memory holds a special place in my heart. It taught me the value of teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of celebrating together. It was a day filled with laughter, excitement, and a sense of accomplishment. I treasure that memory and the lessons it taught me.
The Dragon Boat Festival is not just about racing and food; it is about coming together as a community, cherishing our traditions, and creating lasting memories. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this festival and look forward to creating many more cherished memories in the years to come.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important Chinese festivals, the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.
The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and respected man,but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.
Unable to regain the respect of the emperor,in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan, the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.
Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan, their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.
