Title: A Lucky Encounter

One sunny afternoon, as I was strolling through the park, I had a chance encounter that would change my life forever. I had always considered myself a lucky person, but this particular encounter proved to be the luckiest of all.

As I walked along the winding path, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the peaceful surroundings, I noticed a small, injured bird lying on the ground. My heart went out to the helpless creature, and without hesitation, I picked it up gently and cradled it in my hands.

I knew I had to do something to help the bird, so I decided to take it home and care for it until it was well enough to fly away. Little did I know that this act of kindness would lead to a series of fortunate events.

Over the next few weeks, I spent hours each day nursing the bird back to health. I fed it, kept it warm, and provided a safe and comfortable environment for it to recover. As the days went by, I noticed a remarkable bond forming between us. The bird would chirp happily whenever it saw me, and I couldn't help but smile in return.

One day, as the bird was perched on my finger, fully recovered and ready to fly, a sudden gust of wind blew through the open window. Startled by the sudden movement, the bird took flight and landed on a nearby tree branch. It looked at me for a moment, as if to say thank you, and then soared into the sky.

I watched in awe as the bird disappeared into the distance, feeling a sense of fulfillment and gratitude. Little did I know that this act of kindness would bring me more luck than I could have ever imagined.

A few weeks later, I received a phone call from a company I had applied to for a job. They informed me that I had been selected for an interview and invited me to their office the following week. I couldn't believe my luck! I had been searching for a job for months, and now, thanks to my lucky encounter with the bird, I had been given a chance to prove myself.

The interview went smoothly, and to my surprise, I was offered the job on the spot. I was overjoyed and felt immensely grateful for the series of events that had led me to this moment. I couldn't help but think that it was the bird's way of repaying me for my kindness.

From that day forward, I vowed to always help those in need and to spread kindness wherever I went. I learned that sometimes, the smallest acts of compassion can lead to the most significant rewards. I will forever cherish the memory of that lucky encounter and the positive impact it had on my life.

Title: A Stroke of Luck

Luck is a fickle thing that can change our lives in an instant. I consider myself a lucky person, but one particular incident stands out as the luckiest of all.

It was a rainy evening, and I was on my way home from work. As I hurriedly walked down the crowded streets, struggling to keep my umbrella from turning inside out, I spotted a wallet lying on the ground. Curiosity got the better of me, and I bent down to pick it up.

Opening the wallet, I discovered a substantial amount of money, along with various identification cards. My first instinct was to turn it in to the nearest police station, but something told me to take a closer look. I noticed a piece of paper tucked inside, on which was written, "Reward for return - $1000."

At this point, I was faced with a dilemma. I could easily return the wallet and claim the reward, or I could keep the money and pretend I had never found it. It was a moral dilemma that tested my character and integrity.

Ultimately, I made the decision to return the wallet, money and all. I knew that it was the right thing to do, regardless of any reward. Little did I know that this act of honesty would bring me more luck than I could have ever imagined.

A week later, as I was going about my daily routine, I received an unexpected phone call. It was the owner of the wallet, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for returning it. He informed me that he was a successful businessman and wanted to offer me a job at his company as a token of his gratitude.

I couldn't believe my luck! Not only had I done the right thing by returning the wallet, but I was also being rewarded with a job opportunity. It was a stroke of luck that I would forever be grateful for.

From that day forward, I learned the importance of honesty and integrity. I realized that doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, can bring about unexpected rewards. I vowed to always act with integrity and to be a person of character, no matter the circumstances.

In conclusion, luck can come in many forms, and sometimes, the luckiest moments are the ones we create ourselves. By acting with kindness, honesty, and integrity, we can attract good fortune into our lives. I will forever cherish the memory of that rainy evening and the stroke of luck that changed my life.

Every Day is a Lucky

I teach economics at UNLV three times per week. Last Monday, at the beginning of class, I cheerfully asked my students how their weekend had been. One young man said that his weekend had not been so good. He had his wisdom teeth removed. The young man then proceeded to ask me why I always seemed to be so cheerful.

His question reminded me of something I'd read somewhere before: "Every morning when you get

up, you have a choice about how you want to approach life that day," I said. "I choose to be cheerful.""Let me give you an example," I continued, addressing all sixty students in the class. "In addition to teaching here at UNLV, I also teach out at the community college in Henderson, 17 miles down the freeway from where I live. One day a few weeks ago I drove those 17 miles to Henderson. I exited the freeway and turned onto College Drive. I only had to drive another quarter mile down the road to the college. But just then my car died. I tried to start it again, but the engine wouldn't turn over. So I put my flashers on, grabbed my books, and marched down the road to the college."

"As soon as I got there I called AAA and arranged for a tow truck to meet me at my car after class. The secretary in the Provost's office asked me what has happened. 'This is my lucky day,' I replied, smiling."" 'Your car breaks down and today is your lucky day?' She was puzzled. 'What do you mean?'"" 'I live 17 miles from here.' I replied. 'My car could have broken down anywhere along the freeway. It didn't. Instead, it broke down in the perfect place: off the freeway, within walking distance of here. I'm still able to teach my class, and I've been able to arrange for the tow truck to meet me after class. If my car was meant to break down today, it couldn't have been arranged in a more convenient fashion.'""The secretary's eyes opened wide, and then she smiled. I smiled back and headed for class." So ended my story.

I scanned the sixty faces in my economics class at UNLV. Despite the early hour, no one seemed to be asleep. Somehow, my story had touched them. Or maybe it wasn't the story at all. In fact, it had all started with a student's observation that I was cheerful.

Do Lucky Numbers Really Bring Good Luck?

Lucky numbers are widely accepted by people in nowadays, the young especially. Each constellation, each blood type has their own lucky numbers. People choose a number as his or her lucky number because of various reasons, such as birthday, a special day or a story, which considered to bring good luck to them. Generally speaking, numbers such as six, eight, sixteen and eighteen are regarded as lucky numbers due to their pronunciations that refers to the implication of luckiness.

However, some other people hold the opinion that numbers have nothing to do with their fortune. They believe in their own rather than “lucky numbers”. As far as I am concerned, lucky numbers are only numbers that can bring nothing to you if you don’t try hard to get what you want. If you want happiness, for example, it can’t be realized just relying on a number. Only your effort can make happiness possible. Anyway, lucky number is personal thing, and it does encourage the person who believes in it sometimes.
